Butta Verses, a Bronx-bred rapper who now calls Fort Lauderdale, Florida home, made his debut appearance on De La Soul’s 2004 release The Grind Date spitting back to back with Posdonus on the song “No.” Butta’s name was bestowed upon him by fellow MCs at local ciphers but once his mixtape reached the ears of DJ Maseo from De La Soul, his rhymes started reaching neighborhoods around the world.

CRITICAL MADNESS (BIO | MYSPACE)

Pure chaos, binge drinking, partying and all-out insanity are some of the first few thoughts when first coming across Orlando, FL natives Critical Madness (CM). Critical Madness is the combination of emcees cRITICAL and Madness, two minds put together to create raw music with intricate concepts and pure lyricism, reminiscent of hip-hop's golden era but still fresh to the day.

DILLON (BIO | WEBSITE)

He is a visionary and his purpose is to use the artistry of hip-hop to give those who love hip-hop a greater love for it but also to show those who think negatively of it that it can be used for more than always talking about guns, "ice", "hustlin'", the ghetto, money, "hoes" & clothes, etc.

JAZZ ADDIXX (BIO | MYSPACE)

In short, commercial hip-hop isn't really hip-hop anymore; its rap without the depth, ingenuity and creativity that was present in innovators like Rakim or Eric B's artistry. So what does a music lover do? Give up the genre to the commercial slaughterhouse? No. They can check out Virginia's Jazz Addix instead. Why? MARVELOUS MAG (BIO | MYSPACE)

Think BIG, when u think of Marvelous Magnum. This Long Island Native is full of smooth melodic flows & catchy street themes that listeners have no choice but to take heed to. The interesting thing about this guy is that he has 2 sides, Marvelous on 1 side is the smooth, conscious, harmonic, soulful sound. While Magnum is the more street and catchy side, when you mix them both together you have a very Artistic Lyricist.

MOKA ONLY (BIO) | RON CONTOUR (BIO) | THE NOPE (MOKA ONLY & PSY) (BIO)

Moka Only - is a dynamic artist with a career that spans over 10 years, 26 LP's and 400,000 records sold independently. He has won three Juno's, seven Much Music video awards and is a former member of the west coast super group Swollen Members. | Ron Contour doesn't care what you think. "Ron Con" already knows where he stands in the midst of today’s shaky music industry climate. Ron con has worked too hard and too long to care about the mundane details that plague so many of hip hops a and b listeners. Ron Con is a proud "c-lister". A hip hop cunundrum (sic), a man of few means yet many dreams and a penchant for the peculiar. | In an era where most hip-hop artists claim to 'break new ground' or 'challenge the boundaries', yet more often than not only deliver on diluted retreads of stale rap clichés, Canadian/American duo The Nope (Psy of the Oddities and Moka Only) offer a different approach: they drop all pretence of treading new waters.

MUNESHINE (BIO | MYSPACE)

Hailing from Dalmeny, Saskatchewan (pop. 1,500), Muneshine has come a long way. From first hearing hip hop music at age 9, experimenting with words and turntables in his teens, to travelling the world collaborating with legends in his field and inspiring others, Muneshine’s story is unlike any other Canadian hip hop artist.

PFM (BIO | MYSPACE)

After embracing his insanity, he naturally fell into place with making music - first as an MC, and later on as a producer. Like many other kids, he dreamt of being an artist and made beats for fun, but he didn't consider himself an MC until he recorded his first song.

ROB SWIFT (BIO | MYSPACE)

Rob Swift knows all about evolution and its conceptual cousin, revolution—whether it's the spontaneous kind that sparks radical change, or the vinyl-based kind that occurs at 33-1/3 revolutions – per - minute (and variations thereof).

SAINT (BIO) | THE GOOD PEOPLE (EMSKEE & SAINT) (BIO)

SCI-FI Stu (BIO | WEBSITE)

Sci-Fi Stu is a producer from Edinburgh in Scotland, he has been beat making for 2 years, and has been a musician and promoter for around 10 years. Influenced by the 'golden era' sound SciFi got into hip hop through a friend around 1990 and enjoyed listening to Public Enemy, EPMD, Wu Tang Clan and all those classic sounds while growing up.

SEAN J (BIO | WEBSITE)

Today's rap music is at a tipping point. Since the latest technology allows anyone to make and promote music without leaving their bedroom, the music world is flooded with the oversaturation of social network solicitors and trendy blog videos. While most get lost in the huge crowd, the Hawaii-raised Sean J (born as Sean James) hopes to stands out with something that most people are afraid of doing, being himself.

SEVEN (BIO | MYSPACE)

Seven aka Young Bunchy Carter hails from Winston-Salem, North Carolina. With a potent combination of story-telling, political insight, and street swagger, the Central Islip, Long Island native has plenty to prove.

SHINOBI STALIN (BIO | BANDCAMP)

The Bronx born, Orlando raised emcee Shinobi Stalin is the counter thesis of this new age way of thinking. Bound to the culture of Hip Hop, His moral obligations to preserving and making a meaningful impact in the genre has shinned through on his new album Zombie SKool.

SPECTAC (BIO | FACEBOOK)

It might seem ironic that someone who got tricked into going to college would go on to become a school principal, but for South Carolina native, Mervin Jenkins, it was just nature taking its’ course. Known to his former students as “Jenks”, the streets know a freestyle fiend named “Spectac” (short for Spectacular). Born in Eutawville, S.C., the University of Hip-Hop was the only education that interested the young rapper who fell in love with rhyming at a very young age.

STORM THE UNPREDICTABLE (BIO | MYSPACE)

Storm the Unpredictable is a hip hop artist with a lyrical style that can instantly change the mood of any crowd, like the weather quickly changes with an approaching violent storm.

ST/MIC (BIO | MYSPACE)

At the tender age of 6 he made his first mix tape, which consisted of beating random objects around the room whilst his brother blew obscene notes on a saxophone. At 9 he taught himself to play the bass, followed by guitar at 11 and drums at 14.

SUPASTITION aka KAM MOYE (BIO | MYSPACE)

Though he had a few indie releases under his belt long before, Supastition garnered his first dose of national attention when his Nicolay - produced song "The Williams" was hand-selected by ?uestlove of the Roots’ Okayplayer Records to appear on their compilation album.

THA CONNECTION (BIO | MYSPACE)

Representing Hempstead, Long Island New York is the duo Hus Tha KingPin and SmooVth Dude who make up the hip hop crew Tha Connection. Young in age but old souls in the game with musical influences including Slick Rick, Wu Tang Clan, DJ Premier, AZ, DITC, Pete Rock, Jeru the Damaja, Nas, MF Doom and Jean Grae to just name a few.

THE CUSTODIAN OF RECORDS (BIO | MYSPACE)

Hailing from the muck that is Essex County, New Jerusalem (Home of Reggie Noble, Tame and El, Treach and Vinnie, LOTUG and The O.G Flavor Unit) comes The Custodian of Records. A self pro-claimed minimalist, once raised on the Radio, only began producing due to the mainstream of sewage and boring indie scene...

THE STRANGERZ (BIO | WEBSITE)

Compiled of the duo Hus and Smoovth of Tha Connection (Goon Trax, Domination Recordings, Feelin'Music, Libyus Music, River City Music Ent.) and Marvelous Mag, (his debut release "Selfless Acts" features Skyzoo of Duck Down Records), emerges The Strangerz. Their debut release "2nd To None" explores soul, jazz, and love songs with a street vibe.

TZARIZM (BIO) | THE HEART & BRAIN (BIO)

Ultimately, the heart and brain are essential for survival and well being. One cannot exist without the other. The same factual philosophy has formed a duo that wants to keep Hip Hop's heart from stopping and mind from being 'brain- dead.' The Heart and Brain is a strong breeze of fresh air to the masses that crave what most real Hip Hop fans want…dope beats and dope rhymes.
