L.I.F.E. Long

L.I.F.E. Long: Let's take it to the 90's era when New York was still in the golden age where there was a real movement behind Hip-Hop culture.

Hence the era where L.I.F.E. LONG was born. L.I.F.E. LONG which is an acronym for "Living In Full Effect" has been a staple on the independent hip-hop music scene for over a decade, appearing on independent classics since early as 1995 (notable classics like Canibol Ox's "Cold Vein", Anti Pop Consortium's "Trajic Epilouge", D.J. Js1's "Ground Original and so much more), also being a founding member of the Legendary "Stronghold" crew (Breez Evahflowin, C-rayz Walz, Poison Pen, Imortal Technique and others), which has proven L.I.F.E's movements in the Hip-Hop game.

L.I.F.E LONG born and raised in New York embodies the movement and brings it forth in his music on a regular basis. Nothing but classic Hip-hop can describe the sound, the love, the passion the artform that's represented in L.I.F.E.'s character and music. Check previous solo projects of L.I.F.E. Long like his first debut in 2002 the mixtape that set it off "Cuts & Calabos" part 1 which showcased all of life's featured work past and present. L.I.F.E. LONG made a presence with that mixtape selling thousands of copies on his own with no machine behind him except for his ability of his gift of gab convincing common people on the streets to purchase his mixtapes. Seen at venues, anywhere there were people there was L.I.F.E. slinging mixtapes.

L.I.F.E. LONG then began to focus more on putting together an album that would give a brief description of his character and love for the art. In 2003 L.I.F.E. LONG released his first single "Incredibly Fresh" with CAJO/Fat Beats which was the beginning of L.I.F.E.'s solo career. After the "Incredibly Fresh" single, spanned the e.p. "Struggler's Paradise", which was just a showcase of his beginning. After being featured on "Mike Ladd's" Majesticon album L.I.F.E. was invited to travel over seas on a publicity tour to promote the lp which enabled L.I.F.E. to get an album deal in France with French record label Ascetic Music. The album released on Ascetic music in 2007 titled "Longevity 1.5" was released in Europe and then distributed through the United States on Ascetic/Koch. That was only the beginning while in between touring L.I.F.E.Long began recording with Swedish producer Big Ape from Sweden's production crew Elite Fleet. Big Ape & L.I.F.E.Long finished the lp "Crossing the Globe" another classic! While in between recording "Crossing The Globe" with producer Big Ape, L.I.F.E. still had a fire burning inside to create, so he hooked up with Brooklyn producer Black Sparx, and after listening to a few beats they began recording and out of no where "The Waiting Game" lp was birthed.

L.I.F.E. LONG who started rhyming as a kid inspired by Kool Herc, Grandmaster Flash, Africa Bambata, the late Dj Mr. Majic's Rap attack show, Dj Red Alert and all the pioneers that started this culture were like teachers and mentors who molded L.I.F.E. into the m.c. he is today. L.I.F.E. Long is Hip-Hop! Experience the vibe in every recording, and live performance.

Black Sparx: Before he began producing tracks for up and coming talents, Brooklyn born and raised producer Black Sparx found his love for music by spending hours immersed in his parents’ extensive vinyl collection, comprised of various soul and cultural sounds. Influenced by these beats while growing up within the New York hip hop scene, Black Sparx learned to arrange and compose music, creating a unique sound which pays tribute to his musical influences.

His career began to take off in 2005, when through a mutual friend he was introduced to Life Long of the Legendary Strong Hold. Life was currently working on his second album, Cutts & Collabos when Black Sparx produced The Imprint, opening the doorway to future collaborations, namely the Still Waiting Mix tape. They are currently finishing up The Waiting Game, which is scheduled to be released around the 2009 winter holiday season.

Soon after his first collaboration with Life Long, Sparx met emcee from San Diego by the name of Blame One. Blame was working on his current release Days Chasing Days when he and Sparx met and discovered a shared appreciation in music style. The partnership produced Supreme Beings, the first single on the Days Chasing Days album (Soul Spazm, 2009) and Official with It. Supreme Beings is currently a top download on iTunes.

Since his recent successful collaborations, Black Sparx is currently working on his debut album, Summer Haze, scheduled for release in the summer of 2010. The album will feature collaborations with artists such as Blame One, Life Long, Illanoyz, Breez EvaFlowin, Swave Sevah, Nena Bleu & Rich Porter from Brooklyn. The first single off the album will be released in May 2010.

Black Sparx continues to create new sounds for various artists on the music scene, working on his own music and broadening his range as a producer and musical talent. With each new track, Sparks evolves his sound, blazing trails on the music scene and setting a new standard in contemporary hip hop.

CURRENT EVENTS: You can now listen to more of Black Sparx’s music in the upcoming documentary called “To Catch a Dollar “. It recently debuted in this year’s Sundance Film festival in January & will be shown internationally for the next 3 years on nationwide television. Black Sparx & Life Long have also released the video for their first single off of “The Waiting Game” LP. The name of the song is called “Veteran” & it features DJ JS 1 on the 1&2s.
